The Automobile and Fashion Museum keeps supporting fashion thanks to the growing demand on the design world and the art of creation. For that reason, from August 3th to August 30th, the Museum organizes a new temporary exhibition with an exclusive and valuable example of High Couture never exhibited before.

A walk through the artistic evolution of 20th century started with a collection of 80 vehicles and an extraordinary exhibition of vintage cups and hats under the name of ‘Balenciaga a Schiaparelli’. Since, the owner of the collection, Joao Magalhaes, dedicated to offer to visitors a unique experience, he has increased the vehicles collection, having almost a centenary collection, and the Fashion collection with more than 200 High Couture pieces, divided in 7 exhibitions, turning it in one of the most important private collection of vehicles, art and Fashion of the world, with an incalculable economical, historical and cultural value.

The last decade, the social, technological and cultural changes have forged Fashion takes its own place on cultural spaces. Exhibitions of consecrated designers form yesterday and today, credit the relationship of art and transformation done in the most exquisite Couture creations.

In this inedited exhibition you can see a group of fourteen pieces that introduce visitors into the diversity and the richness of this High Couture collection. A temporal sample of the line ‘Maga Sugar Cruiser’as a must for this summer that includes brands as Chanel, Pucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, Prada, Ungaro or Marc Jacobs among others.

The exhibition will have as main character an exclusive piece of Christian Dior as well.The jewel bra, introduced on the swimming pool of the famous hotel Copacabana Palace, playing on this way the greatest luxury exponent. Apart from revolutionize the Fashion in 50s decade and to be an iconic luxury bran now a days, the Museum has in one of its rooms of the permanent exhibition ‘Too much is never enough’, headdress of this Brand from 50s embellished with veils and incrustations of precious stones.

Months of work, after a hard selection and purchase process, because most of the pieces has been purchased in important tenders in Paris and London, will be exhibited from next weekend.

As well as main museums in the world: Metropolitan in NY, Pushkin in Moscow, Victory and Albert in London or the Guggenheim, which constantly organize vintage flashbacks of the big brands, the Automobile and Fashion Museum, increases the cultural offer betting for enriching visitor with a new Fashion exhibition without precedents, because in different from another space thanks its vocation for the constant evolution in its automobile, fashion and art collection.

The exhibition can be visited in our regular timeline, from Mondays to Sundays from 10 am till 7 pm, with general (8.50€)  and reduced (6€) ticket prices till next August 30th.
